I started by figuring out a face for the character. This is the only character whose appearance is well deifined in the story. He is Gaunt and has a scar on his lip. I made it a scar across his lips.
Finalizing the head design.
Figuring out a costume that is vague as to which time period it is from. Just not too modern enough to put him in the age of guns. This character is a rough and tough guy. I gave him less protective clothing.to make him look like a risk taker or someone who doesn't care for himself which could also be the reason why he is gaunt. So I chose the design on the right.
